On Monday, May 19, 2024, the Lebanese International University, in cooperation with its IEEE Student Branch, hosted an important symposium that addressed the topic of cybersecurity. This symposium was held in the auditorium in the presence of 130 students and specialists. The symposium, organized by 20 technology professionals, shed light on the main challenges facing the technology sector today, which mainly include protecting sensitive data and managing big data efficiently.

During the symposium, several vital challenges were addressed, such as the lack of specialized skills in contemporary technological fields. On the other hand, current developments and trends in the sector were reviewed, as emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning have witnessed remarkable progress, in addition to developments in the fields of robotics and renewable energy.

The most prominent feature of the symposium was highlighting the promising career opportunities in this field, as the demand for cybersecurity experts and data analysts is increasing. In addition, speakers emphasized the growing need for engineers specialized in the fields of advanced technologies and mobile applications.

The symposium concluded with the importance of keeping pace with technological developments and preparing to face future challenges, which reinforces the importance of cybersecurity as a vital and renewable field that forms the basis for success in the technological labor market.
