The First International Conference of Intelligent Computing and Engineering (ICOICE 2019) was held in the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Hadhramout University, Mukalla, Yemen on December 15-16, 2019 and organised by Hadhramout University and the Yemeni Scientists Research Group (YSRG) and technically sponsored by IEEE – Yemen Subsection.
The conference received 109 papers for researchers from Yemen and other 25 countries including Algeria, Canada, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Palestine, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sudan, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and Vietnam. Of these submissions, only 66 papers were included in the conference proceedings.
The papers discuss several research topics such as artificial intelligence, data science, business intelligence, internet of things (IoT), intelligent communication systems, advances in information security, computational vision and robotics, and computational methods in engineering.
The ICOICE 2019 program included three keynote speeches: Prof. Dr. Anne James, Dr. Noorminshah Iahad and Dr. Tawfik Al-Hadhrami; and three invited speeches: Dr. Ammar Zahary, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Bamatraf and Dr. Azzat Alsaidi. The program included two parallel sessions for two days.
